Perhaps it is time to resurrect the Blog on Family Affair.
It is the end of March 07 and we are up around the Keppel Islands for 4/5 weeks. We are finding it magnificent at this time of the year. Temperatures do not vary much between day and night- ie close to 30deg and the water is a good 4 deg warmer than the west, just beautiful for swimming. Fortunately there are no stingers around so we have been doing lots of swimming and snorkelling.
Yesterday we spent a picture perfect day anchored off the resort at Great Keppel Island, everywhere you looked it was like looking at a postcard. Christine enjoyed checking out the resortwear shops and we both enjoyed listening to the band that was entertaining the day visitors on the beautiful foreshore. We then had a swim and snorkel, we just loved every minute. The night before we had a very pleasant balmy evening BBQ on Family Affair with the people from a neighbouring yacht. After sitting in the marina for 4 1/2 months Family Affair needed her hulls cleaned so Peter was delighted to have an offer from these people to use their under water breathing equipment to enable him to get the job done.
Next weekend we have visitors visiting from the west for a few days, fingers crossed for similar conditions to what we have experienced so far.
